The Community Investment Review Process
The Alberta Real Estate Foundation has a two point approval process for its community investment program.
1. Initial Concept Stage
Interested applicants work with Foundation staff to determine project fit with areas of interest. |
|
2. Project Proposal Review
Projects that have advanced to the proposal stage are reviewed by at least two Board of Governors prior to the Board meeting to determine suitability. If the project proposal review is successful, the application is sent for final review and decision by the Board of Governors. |
Note: Decisions on grants are made collectively by the Board of Governors. Decisions of the Board may not be appealed.
Tips for submitting a successful project proposal
- Include Real Estate industry involvement in your proposal. Seek out letters of support from REALTORS® and your local Real Estate Board/Association.
- Do not send a generic proposal without reference to the Foundation’s areas of interest and general funding guidelines.
- Advise the Foundation of other potential funders that have been contacted or will be contacted about the same project.
- Determine how to evaluate the project and demonstrate outcomes and impacts after the project is complete.
- Demonstrate community support and how you will be collaborating with other organizations and volunteers.
TIPS AND TOOLS AFTER FUNDING HAS BEEN AWARDED
Upon approval of the grant, the Alberta Real Estate Foundation requests the following:
- Appropriate acknowledgement of the support received
from the Alberta Real Estate Foundation, including logo recognition,
presentations and media articles.
- Keeping in contact with the Foundation about the implementation of the grant.
- Proper evaluation of the grant through an interim and final report based upon a development and results based framework.
The
Alberta Real Estate Foundation is continually evaluating and moving
forward with its community investment initiatives so that the
communities and people of Alberta benefit from the collective interest
from real estate transactions.
