" Interest on trust deposits that would net pennies to an individual, adds up to millions for the Alberta Real Estate Foundation. Money that benefits the people of Alberta." Les Phillips, Chair 2009-2011 |
As a real estate professional in Alberta, you contribute to the foundation through your daily activities. Every REALTOR® that receives money in trust with respect to a transaction in real estate generates income for the Foundation.
Do you know what happens to the interest the bank pays on brokers’ pooled trust accounts?
That money goes to the Alberta Real Estate Foundation, providing the revenue to fulfill its legislated responsibilities, which include support projects that fall under the following areas of interest:
- Housing Affordability
- Education and Research
- Land Stewardship and Environment
- Industry Leadership
The Alberta Real Estate Foundation is an important bridge betwen the Real Estate industry and the communities of Alberta. Since 1991, the Foundation has invested more than $13.9 million in support of projects across the province, funding that came from the interest on Brokers trust accounts.
