Foundation Announces 2010 Spring Funding
May 2010 - The Board of Governors recently approved $333,089 in community investment projects.
Notable projects approved for funding include:
- $20,000 to the Calgary Real Estate Board (www.creb.com) to assess and implement energy labeling as part of the Multiple Listing System (MLS).
- $10,370 to the Peace Association for Life Long Learning to develop seminars on condominium ownership and management for Grande Prairie and area.
- $40,000 to Waterlution (www.waterlution.org) for the Canadian Water Innovation Lab 2010 which will bring together 250 young Canadians with key water decision makers to explore solutions to water resource management including the role of land stewardship and urbanization.
- $20,000 to Nature Alberta (www.albertatomorrow.ca) for the on-line delivery of an electronic growth simulator which will allow students across Alberta to explore the benefits and challenges of alternative land use scenarios.
- $20,000 to the Drumheller Housing Authority (www.rentdrumheller.ca) for the development of a recycling program for low income housing units.
