September 2010 - Real Estate Professionals and buyers looking for property in the Crowsnest Pass have a new resource to inform them about development in this beautiful part of Alberta known for its recreational opportunities, thanks to an Alberta Real Estate Foundation initiative to fund the Crowsnest Conservation Society -www.crowsnestconservation.ca.
The brochure, Crowsnest Pass: Stewardship for Sustainability, synthesizes topics of importance for potential homebuyers in the area, including:
- Living With Wildlife
- Bear Smart
- Wildlife Corridors around Highway 3 and the Railroad
- Connecting With Nature
- Responsible Recreation
“Through the generous support of the Alberta Real Estate Foundation, this project got off the ground” says Crowsnest Conservation Program Manager, Jenice Smith. “The financial support allowed us to hire a professional graphic designer and print numerous copies of the brochure for distribution through local REALTORS®.”
The brochure articulates a set of principles for appropriate development that respects the community’s economic, environmental and cultural needs based upon feedback from a number of community stakeholders. The Stewardship for Sustainability brochure is a tool for Real Estate Professionals to pass on to their clients that highlights community values that attract clients to the area. It also sends a message of maintaining those values for long-term community viability and sustainability.
