Foundation Announcement - New Governors & Staff

The Foundation announces new appointments to its staff and Board of Governors.

January 2011 - As a new year dawns, the Alberta Real Estate Foundation announces recent changes to its staff.

	After 20 years as Executive Director, Gael MacLeod left the Foundation at the end of 2010 as she was elected to the position of Councillor at the City of Calgary on October 18, 2010. The Foundation congratulates Gael on her accomplishments and sends along its best wishes as she embarks upon her new adventure of serving in public office.

	The Alberta Real Estate Foundation welcomes back Richard Parker as Interim Executive Director effective January 1, 2011. Richard served as Governor of the Foundation from 2008-2010 as an appointment by the Real Estate Council of Alberta. He is best known as a planning consultant with over 40 years experience and for serving on the Real Estate Council of Alberta as a public appointment by Service Alberta from 2004-2010.

	Junaid Malik was named by the Real Estate Council of Alberta to the Foundation's Board of Governors effective November 1, 2010. Junaid is an active volunteer with the Calgary Immigrant Aid Society as an employment coach and he also volunteers with the Calgary Real Estate Board’s Education Task Force . Junaid is an Associate Broker with Re/Max House of Real Estate Calgary.

	Cheryl Schindel is currently the Broker/owner of the Century 21 Grande Prairie Realty Inc. office in Grande Prairie, Alberta. She has been a REALTOR® since 1994. Cheryl currently sits as a Council Member for the Real Estate Council of Alberta and was appointed to the Board of Governors of the Alberta Real Estate Foundation in 2011.
