Feasibility Study for a Share Housing Initiative at NAM Centre
The NAM Centre for Holistic Recovery is conducting a feasibility study to explore shared housing as an affordable and supportive option for individuals in recovery who face barriers to securing stable housing. Inspired by the SHARE Housing Initiative in Nelson, BC, the project will assess how a shared housing model could improve housing stability, reduce hidden homelessness, and increase affordability for low-income Calgarians.
The study will examine best practices across Canada and explore potential partnerships with private landlords to implement a house-sharing model through the NAM Niwas Housing Program—offering a scalable solution to help ease demand on Calgary’s limited housing supply.
