The Alberta Real Estate Foundation is piloting an expanded Development Grant Program to better support emerging and high-impact initiatives across Alberta’s real estate ecosystem. 

Beginning June 25, 2026, the Foundation will pilot an increase to the Development Grant maximum from $25,000 to $100,000 for staff-level decision-making, guided by the Board of Governor’s 2025-2027 Strategic Plan and the Foundation’s mission and mandate. 

The pilot will run over three grant rounds through Fall 2027, allowing the Foundation to evaluate application trends, organizational impacts, and opportunities to better support grantees and innovation. Feedback from applicants, staff, and the Board of Governors will help inform the future of the program.

The criteria and application process remains the same. We require all applicants to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) via our application portal. We will continue to accept EOIs for Development Grants throughout the year, with a decision-making turnaround of 3-4 weeks from submission.
